Documenting families and sharing visual stories is what I love to do. I approach these sessions with a mother's heart and an eye for detail.

In our session, I aim to capture the genuine interactions between you all and visually describe the realness of your family, quirks and all; I let your personalities guide our session. I seek out the moments that happen in the everyday - the quiet, the wild, the perfect & the imperfect, because that is real life, in all of its beauty.

These real and beautiful memories are what will be important to you in years to come.

I love documenting the beautiful chaos of families and creating honest visual stories.

I approach these storytelling sessions with a mother's heart, a sense of adventure, and an eye for connections and detail.

Choose a location that is important to you; a place your children are familiar with.

Sessions at home are always a lot of fun. Everyone is relaxed and you are surrounded by things that hold meaning. I like to follow along to tell a little story; stopping every now and then to catch a more 'posed' family portrait.

If we are shooting in your home, don't feel as if you need to make it look perfect. I personally love when there are messes in a house, it shows what real life is like! And don't forget, my focus is on your family. The surroundings simply help tell your story.

It's great to have an activity planned; it could be as simple as playing a game with your child, doing some craft activities, baking, building sand castles on the beach, going for a walk in the bush, an ice cream date or a picnic in the park. Do something you love doing together.

I will be a fly on the wall; my aim is to capture the pure, organic emotion between your family members. The point is to have fun, let me worry about the rest!

I want you to leave our session with wonderful images and a heart full of happy!

They're only young once. The wonderful thing about family Storytelling Sessions is that they can take place at any time - to celebrate a birthday or family reunion, or just because. Right now is a great time to celebrate your family and document those memories.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do we book?

Easy! Send me an enquiry and tell me a little about your family, what you guys love to do and when you would like your session. I will set up an online booking system for you, which will contain the Booking Form, the Session Agreement (you can sign this electronically) and the invoice. A $150 non-refundable booking fee is required. Once this is paid and the Agreement is signed, your booking will be confirmed and your date secured. The balance of payment is due 1 week prior to your session. Gift vouchers available.

When is the best time for our session?

If your session is at your home, weather and bright sun won't be an issue; so you can be quite flexible with the time.

On-location shoots are best in the early morning or late afternoon. I'll be using natural light and the surroundings. If it is cloudy, it will make for beautiful even light. If it is raining, we can reschedule - unless you're super adventurous and happy to dance in the rain! Late afternoon is my favourite time of the day to photograph, when the sun is low and the light is soft - it makes you look amazing!

When do we receive our photographs?

A few days after your session, I will share some images of your day as a little taster of your wonderful session. About 3-4 weeks after, you’ll receive a link to an online gallery with the low res files, which is perfect for sharing with family and friends. Not long after, you’ll receive your USB in the post, with the images in both high res (for printing) and low resolution (for sharing on social media).

Can we include our dog?

Yes please! Dogs are definitely important members of the family and should never miss out on the fun.
